Attendance at School

Parents are legally required to ensure that their child attends school regularly.   If your child is late we ask that they report to the main entrance and check into reception where they are handed a late slip before going to class.   Lateness is noted in the register and senior staff will contact parents if a pattern of repeated lateness develops.

In order to ensure the safety and welfare of all our pupils, parents are required to phone the school if their child is absent.   You are required to call on the first day and each subsequent day of absence.

We operate a system called "Truancy Call".   If your child is not present in the class when the register is taken, the class teacher will notify office staff who will, in turn activate Truancy Call.   This system phones / texts or emails parents to let them know that their child is not at school.   It keeps ringing / texting / emailing until there is a response from a parent / carer.   It is essential that office staff have up to date information on their computer systems to ensure that we can contact you at all times.
