The PTA provides links between the school and parents. The PTA organises and supports social activities to bring members of the school community together as well as hosting fundraising events to purchase items to enhance and extend the resources available for learning and teaching.
Every parent and teacher is automatically a member of the PTA and are welcome to attend meetings. Meetings are held approximately once a month in James Gillespie's High School. The PTA has a notice board on the front path into the school. Notification of events are normally posted there as a reminder. Notes sent home from the PTA are easily identifiable as they are printed on pink paper.
The PTA run quite a variety of early morning and after school activity clubs. Letters inviting children to attend these clubs are normally sent our each term. Parents are expected to pay a fee for attendance at PTA Clubs.
