Hungry For Success
|
|
The 'Hungry for Success' initiative by the Scottish Executive has meant that our school meals are now both nutritious and attractive to children. Every day we have a hot meat and vegetarian meal to choose from as well as a packed lunch consisting of milk, sandwich, yoghurt, low fat crisps/health bar and fruit. The children have their meals in our school hall. |

Free school meals are granted to children of families in receipt of Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance from the Department of Social Security. Further information and application forms are available from school or:
Children and Families Department
Children may also bring a packed lunch to school which is eaten in the classroom (older year groups) or the school hall (infants). Children may also go home for lunch if a letter has been received from a parent to indicate that this is the case.
Milk is provided free of charge to pupils under Age 5 in the Nursery and to those in receipt of free school meals. For all other children who wish to have milk, parents may purchase milk on a termly basis. The cost depends on the number of weeks in the term and letters are sent out at the end of each term for payment in advance of the following term.
Snack Attack
Children in Primary 1 and 2 are provided with a free piece of fruit twice weekly from the Snack Attack initiative by The City of Edinburgh Council. Children in P3-7 whose parents wish them to have fruit can purchase it on a termly basis. |
