The Great Plant Hunt
This year sees 'The Great Plant Hunt'.   This is a project run for schools across the whole of the UK and involves children from 5-18 years looking at and thinking about wild flowers and plants.   It is part of the Darwin 200 celebrations and is sponsored by Kew Gardens.   To find out more about this project click on the plant picture below.

Each year group is invited to be either a 'lookout', 'discoverer', 'thinker', 'collector', 'investigator' or 'plant detective' and will be able to get involved in different projects through the website.

All classes will have the opportunity to explore the website during their ICT time in Science Week.   The website is always looking for photographs of any wild flowers that you have spotted on your travels and allows class teachers to upload these.   So please send in any photos that you might have.

In keeping with 'The Green Plant Hunt' each child will be given a sunflower seed to plant in class.   They will be asked to look after it in school until the end of term.

Whose plant will grow the tallest?

It would also be fabulous to have photographs of the sunflowers once they are fully grown and we could upload these to our own website.
